EDA Unlock keeps control with the device owner. These three paths cover most setup and recovery questions.
Create a local profile and review the Terms. The Subscription step defaults to Free for new accounts. Continue with Free or review a paid plan; purchasing is optional. You can choose Continue Without Guard to explore first. To activate Guard, grant Screen Time permission, select protected items, and choose an accessible course. Configure lets you adjust protection later.
Use Library to choose up to four active courses. Use Configure to adjust question count and unlock behavior. On the final setup review, Choose Learning Banks takes you directly back to a missing selection.
If you enabled Emergency PIN bypass, use your local profile PIN for a temporary unlock. You can also pause Guard or revoke Screen Time permission in device Settings. Reset Profile removes local learning data; it does not cancel subscriptions or delete online Family device data.

Eda.learning.hq@gmail.comEDA is recommended for learners ages 13 and up. We encourage teens to choose courses with a parent or guardian based on their interests and readiness. Due to sensitive content relating to medical sciences, the recommended learning age is 13 and up. Check the App Store for the current age rating; your installed app’s Terms and applicable requirements continue to apply. Parents can hide the listed medical and financial courses in onboarding or Profile → Parental Controls. These are on-device content settings, not remote monitoring; they use the local profile access, with no separate parent PIN or age verification.
Levels progressed counts advances earned through answers, including advancing again after a regression; changing a starting grade does not count. Screen interruptions counts guarded-app challenges started, including unfinished challenges, not every shield appearance. Time of scrolling displaced is an estimate based on active time on EDA practice and unlock questions, including explanations. EDA does not measure actual scrolling avoided. These metrics begin when tracking starts; older activity is not reconstructed.
Screen Time controls remain free. Kindergarten through Grade 5 in Math, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies and level 1 of each professional course are free, along with Chess, Sudoku, and Vocabulary. Core includes higher levels and courses in those four K–12 subjects. Professional adds the full included learning library. Each higher tier includes the lower tiers’ content. The onboarding Subscription step lets you review plans with Free selected by default for a new account. Closing a purchase screen leaves your current access unchanged. You can also manage subscriptions from Profile → Subscriptions when available.
US subscription prices are Core $8.99/month or $69.99/year, Professional $17.99/month or $119.99/year, and Family $29.99/month or $250/year. Annual plans are billed yearly. Family provides full access for the buyer plus four additional devices. A verified purchase immediately grants buyer access and automatically generates a random 10-digit EDA code to share. Additional devices redeem that code without account sign-in. This uses EDA’s membership service, not Apple Family Sharing. Code creation and redemption require internet access; the same recognized installation does not consume another place. A reinstall or replacement may require a place reset. Apple shows the applicable price, availability, and renewal terms before you confirm a purchase. Local currency and taxes may differ.
Parental Controls can hide medical treatment/reproduction courses or financial courses. Medical restrictions hide Medical Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, and EMT & Paramedic; K–12 Science stays available. Financial restrictions hide Accounting, Audit, Economics, Finance, Financial Accounting, Financial Literacy, Investing, Markets, Real Estate, Risk, Tax, and Trading. Progress is retained when a course is hidden. EDA is not parental surveillance. Protection depends on Apple authorization and device behavior. Blocking and exact relock timing are not guaranteed. Educational questions are not professional advice, certification, or proof of competence. Do not rely on EDA for emergency access or safety-critical decisions.
EDA Unlock uses Apple’s Family Controls framework to shield only the apps, categories, and websites you select. Permission is optional until you activate protection and can be revoked in iOS Settings.
No online account is needed for your local learning profile. Question Data Sharing is optional and off until you agree; declining does not restrict free or paid question access. Learning history has no cloud backup or restore. Family codes use a separate online membership service with a pseudonymous device registration; no Sign in with Apple or account setup is required. The purchaser can rotate the code and remove devices.
Open Configure to change protected items, challenge rules, and unlock behavior. Open Library to change enabled courses. Paid levels require an active eligible subscription when purchases are available.
In version 1.2, open Messages or Flag this question, review your message, and tap Send. It goes to the private EDA team inbox on Cloudflare; replies appear inside EDA. Optional lock-screen alerts open that conversation. Messages are not automatically forwarded to Gmail. On version 1.0, use its email feedback action or the support email below.
Eligible Apple Accounts can try Core Monthly or Professional Monthly free for two weeks. After the trial, the plan automatically renews at the price Apple displays: US $8.99/month for Core or $17.99/month for Professional, unless canceled. Cancel in Apple subscription settings at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid renewal. There is one introductory offer per Apple Account in this subscription group, not one for each plan. Annual and Family plans have no free trial. Apple determines eligibility and confirms the offer at checkout.
Courses contain levels, tiers, and competencies. Complete all available competencies in a tier to advance. For competencies with at least five questions, pass with your first four answers correct, four of your first five, or eight of your latest ten after the initial attempt fails. For one to four questions, answer each available question correctly once; only missed questions repeat. Empty competencies stay hidden. Low accuracy can reopen the most recently passed competency or move you down a tier. Progress reflects this installation, not automatically every device or child.
Each correct answer earns extra guard-free time and counts toward applicable learning progress. The time per answer is your cooldown divided by the required number of answers: with 20 minutes and two answers, each correct answer adds 10 minutes. Earned time starts immediately or extends an active unlock, with no cap. Configure controls the time-based cooldown; Shared Minute mode is no longer available in version 1.2.
Learning and progress recording work offline. Version 1.2 keeps optional analytics queued locally and uploads over Wi-Fi while EDA is running. Purchases, code verification, and sending messages require a connection. Email learning-update enrollment is not available yet. An optional email draft in version 1.2 stays on this device and does not enroll you or send emails. In-app summaries remain available and describe this installation only.
